Here Are Photos Of Your Favorite NBA Stars in High School

#13 Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol is currently one of the best big men in the NBA, but you likely would have never guessed that if you saw him in high school. He managed to lose some weight, tone up and become one of the best in the entire world. Check out number 7 for another dramatic change.

#12 Magic Johnson

If you were asked to think of the best point guard of all time, Magic Johnson is likely at the top of your list. Johnson could do it all on the court. He can play every position on the floor and is arguably one of the top 5 players in history.

#11 Chris Andersen

While you may not be familiar with his playing style, you likely know this man for his looks. Currently, he sports a giant mohawk and is basically covered from head to toe in colorful tattoos. But in this photo, we see him sans-tattoos, maybe for the first time ever!

#10 Lebron James and Carmelo Anthony

Here we get arguably the two best players to emerge from the historic 2003 NBA Draft. Both men have gone on to achieve success in their own right, and their rivalry dates back to high school, as you can see here. These two are among the best small forwards of all time, as is the next entry.

#9 Larry Bird

Larry Bird just might be one of the most surprising players in NBA history. He wasn’t big, wasn’t physically intimidating, but simply got the job done. Who would have thought that the boy in this picture would one day go on to be one of the most influential players in the history of the entire league?

#8 Blake Griffin

That’s right, the young man on the right would go on to be one of the most dominating forces in the NBA today. Griffin throws down powerful dunks unlike anyone else and is quickly becoming one of the best in the league. His twin brother, Taylor, also made it to the NBA.

#7 James Harden

This man looks completely different now than he did back in high school for one big reason. Nowadays, Harden is identified first and foremost by his giant, bushy beard, which is simply amazing. However, his play should also be recognized. Harden is among the best offensive players in the league, bar none.

#6 Joakim Noah

It looks like Noah has always had a love for wacky hair. The big man is a new member of the New York Knicks, but if you judge simply off of this picture, you may have never guessed he would go on to be a center with an all-around game that measures up with the best of them. Check out the next entry to see one of his teammates back in the day.

#5 Derrick Rose

Like Noah, Rose is also a member of the Knicks now after leaving the Bulls. While he is a shell of his former-MVP self, Rose is still among the most exciting players to watch on the court. And even though he has been out of high school for quite a while, he really doesn’t look all that different.

#4 Kobe Bryant

Arguably the best scorer in NBA history, Kobe Bryant’s name is all over the history books of the NBA. This picture also shows that he was a capable scorer in high school too, which is why he was drafted straight out of high school into the NBA and is perhaps the best player to ever be plucked right after graduation!

#3 Anthony Davis

That’s right, this little boy in the photo would go on to grow almost a foot after high school and become a top 5 talent in the NBA. He is the perfect example of how looks can be deceiving. Look for Davis to continue improving over the next few years, as he has not even hit his full potential yet.

#2 Russell Westbrook

With Kevin Durant gone from OKC, Westbrook has all eyes on him to lead the Thunder. He is primed for his best season yet and is perhaps one of the most passionate players in NBA history. Even in high school, Westbrook was impressing people everywhere with his athleticism and ferocity.

#1 Michael Jordan

It is fitting that we end with the greatest of all time. Michael Jordan has basically done it all in the NBA. He was an amazing scorer, defender and leader, with unmatched drive and determination to be the best. It is crazy to look at this picture and imagine that this teenager would go on to become the best to ever play the game.
